Individual Project
Photojournalism & Editorial Works
Education Equality March organized by Alliance for Disability Rights on November 10, 2012.
My photojournalist journey
When I studied Journalism at National Chengchi University, I joined our campus newspaper as a photojournalist, reporting significant student movements and events across universities in Taiwan.
Photojournalism taught me decisiveness. Unlike writers who can follow-up with interviewers later, photographers have only one chance to capture the moment. Each event requires complete focus to capture the perfect shot that tell the story.
Being a photojournalist also pushed me out of my comfort zone. I started talking to strangers, hearing their stories, and visiting towns I'd never been to before. These experiences not only made me more confident but also helped me see the world through different perspectives.
Working Process
Diverse Coverage Collection
During my work for the campus newspaper, I intentionally sought out diverse assignments to broaden my experience. My portfolio spans various events including protests, marches, national sport and music competitions, and arts workshops.
Showcase: Protest Marches
Protest marches were the most challenging yet rewarding events to cover.
As a photojournalist at these events, I needed to move through the crowds to document different perspectives. The unpredictable nature of protests also required me to make decisions quickly and trust my instincts to capture crucial moments.

My photo appeared on the front page(A1) of the school paper.
I photographed several significant demonstrations, including the Education Equality March, the Academic Evaluation Protest, and the Pride Parade. Protest events were especially compelling as they captured vivid human emotions and expressions.

Showcase: Sports Competitions
Photographing sports competitions required intense focus, as everything happens in an instant.
I traveled across Taiwan to photograph various collegiate sports competitions, including the Taiwan University Table Tennis Championships, the College Sepak Takraw Championship, and the National Roller Skating Championship.
My University Sepak Takraw Championship photo was featured on the sports page.

News Video
Beyond photography, I also produced video news reports. Creating a two-minute news video involved careful planning: preparing shot lists, writing narration scripts, and arranging interviews before the event.
After filming, I would edit the footage in our newsroom, record my narration, and combine all elements into the final video. The entire process, from concept to publishing on our school news website, typically took a week.
